Evelyn complaint that the theme on her blog was bored, so I make some google yesterday and get her a new template installed.

She pretty happy with this new theme. Instead of editing the sidebar code to add back all the ads, I use shylock adsense, which save me lots of time.

I would like to write some simple step here to show some newbies, on how to add new wordpress template.

Before start, here is some of the tools and information you required.

1. FTP account details for your hosting server.
   (if you don’t have, please check with your hosting provider)
2. FTP Client software (e.g. filezilla, cuteftp)
   (if you don’t have, click here to download filezilla)
3. Downloaded template file.

Now, we going to upload and install the new template into your blog.

1. Unzip the new template.
2. Connect to your hosting server with your FTP account information.
   (click here to learn how-to connect to FTP using filezilla)
3. Go to the “themes” folder located inside “wp-content”.
4. Upload the unzipped template folder into “themes” folder.
5. Login into your wordpress admin
6. Go to “Presentation” tab, you should see the new theme is added to the list.
7. Click on the theme you like to apply.
8. Refresh your blog front end, and you will see the new theme is applied to your blog.
